Working with the Department of Agriculture and rural development of Phu Yen Province

On March 10, 2023, at the GMP-WHO plant in Ha Nam Province. VMC Vietnam Company welcomed the delegation from the Department of Agriculture and rural development of Fuyang Province by Mr. Nguyen Tri Phuong – Deputy Director of the Chief Division, the member of the division includes Mr. Nguyễn Van Lam – Chief of the Division of Animal Breeding, Mr. Nguyen Thai Hai Anh – Deputy Economic Department of Song Cầu Municipality, Mr. Tran Xuan Lam – Fisheries Division of Phu Yen Province.

The team visited the VMC Laboratory and explored the testing process and production capacity of products at the GMP – WHO plant for marine fisheries animals, especially packages of solutions to improve the health, prevention and treatment of shrimp in the town of Song Bridge, Phu Yen Province.

The VMC Laboratory and the Fisheries Engineering Division have approached the Hum shrimp breeders in the River Bridge town area since February 2022 with the objective: to test the environmental standards of the Shrimp Breeders, rapid testing and molecular biochemistry (PCR) testing for a number of dangerous diseases causing major damage to the Green and Hummum shrimps in the area.

 

During the process of conducting health and disease research, the company has carried out close cooperation with the Department of Fisheries and Assc.Prof Truong Dinh Hoai – Deputy Chairman, Department of fisheries, Vietnam Academy of Agriculture exchanged expertise and reference tests to make quick and accurate decisions to improve health and to come up with highly effective solutions for limiting bacterial damage caused on Hùm shrimp.

During the work at the factory, the Vietnam Seafood Association (VSA) led by the Assc.Prof Nguyễn Hữu Dũng and Dr. Dương Kim Liên– Deputy Secretary-General of the Vietnam Sea Breeding Association, is now playing an increasingly important role in promoting, advising policy, and being a bridge between the members of the production chain of the seafood industry in Vietnam. Assc.Prof Truong Dinh Hoai also participated in the workshop as a scientist specializing in aquatic pathology from the Department of Aquaculture, Vietnam Agricultural Academy.

The visit and work took place in a very open and trusted manner with the presence of four members: the State Regulatory Authority – Manufacturing Enterprises – Scientists – Industry Association. This is an optimum model for solving complex, multi-disciplinary problems and a wide range of specialized knowledge in the conditions of aquaculture in open marine environments.

To conclude the workshop, the Department of Agriculture and the Rural development of Phu Yen Province noted the efforts of the VMC Laboratory and the scientists who collaborated to find a product – a solution to the prevention and treatment of Redhead and Milk disease on shrimp. Commit the relevant authorities of the Municipality of Shandong and the province of Phu Yen to create the best conditions for the VMC Laboratory for testing and diagnosis of disease to have favourable conditions for many marine cages in order to continue to research and provide long-term solutions to improve the health and disease prevention of shrimp in the area of Phu Yen Province.

The work ended well with the commitment to continue to work together and to carry out the next work from the four houses. At the workshop, VMC Vietnam and VMC Laboratory pledged to continue investing time and resources together with scientists, the Vietnam Maritime Association and the Department of Agriculture and Rural development of Phu Yen Province in order to find the best solutions for aquaculture farmers here.
