SEACO discussing with representatives of the APEC – CANADA Growing business partnership project about the plan to support women-owned businesses in Vietnam in the period 2023 – 2026
Hanoi, Vietnam – March 7, 2023 – The Hanoi Small and Medium-Sized Women Entrepreneurs Association (HAWASME) and Seaconsult Joint Stock Company (SEACO) convened at SEACO’s office to discuss a support plan for women-owned businesses in Vietnam during the 2023-2026 phase of the APEC-CANADA Growing Business Partnership project.
The APEC-CANADA Growing Business Partnership project is an economic cooperation initiative between APEC member economies and Canada aimed at fostering economic growth and business development in the region. With the goal of supporting women-owned businesses in Vietnam, SEACO and HAWASME have outlined specific solutions and plans to assist these businesses in enhancing their competitiveness and achieving sustainable development.

During the meeting, SEACO representatives presented the overall business landscape as well as the strengths and weaknesses of women-owned businesses in Vietnam. SEACO also proposed concrete solutions to enhance market access and brand development for women-owned businesses. These solutions include digital transformation of businesses, participation in exhibitions, product promotion on social media, and the establishment of an effective product distribution channel system.
Ms. Stephanie Perrin, representative of the APEC-CANADA Growing Business Partnership project, stated that supporting women-owned businesses is a key objective of the project in the next phase. The information exchanged with SEACO and HAWASME will provide the project with a comprehensive overview of the general situation for women-owned businesses in Vietnam. This will serve as a basis for developing the most appropriate support measures to help women-owned businesses in Vietnam enhance their competitiveness, achieve sustainable development, and contribute positively to the country’s economic growth.
