INTRODUCING PROJECT “IDEAS”
IDEAS PROJECT – INCREASING DIGITAL SKILLS AND E-COMMERCE FOR ASEAN WOMEN MSMES
The IDEAS project focuses on enhancing digital business skills for female leaders and owners of small and medium-sized enterprises in the ASEAN region. The aim is to support women’s active participation in the digital economy.
The IDEAS project is part of the cooperation framework between the ASEAN Coordinating Committee on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (ACCMSME) and Korea. In Vietnam, the Department of Business Development, Ministry of Planning and Investment is the focal point of ACCMSME.
Implementing Unit: Asia Pacific Women’s Information Network Center (APWINC) under Sookmyung Women’s University, Korea.
The project “Strengthening the digital economy participation of ASEAN women-owned micro, small, and medium enterprises” emphasizes the importance of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the ASEAN economy, especially with the significant contribution from women business leaders. With an estimated 61.3 million women business owners in the region, women-led MSMEs play a vital role in the prosperity of the ASEAN economy.
In the context of challenges and opportunities of the digital economy, the project focuses on the important role of information and communication technology, especially in the field of e-Business & Digital Skill. This is not only a critical part of the digital economy but also provides flexibility and easy market access, helping women entrepreneurs to participate in online business processes effectively.
SEACO and VINALINK are honored to be selected as partners to implement the project in Vietnam with activities: managing the team of trainers, developing training content, recruiting trainees, organizing training, and consulting for women-owned MSMEs. With our professionalism and long-standing experience, we are committed to providing high-quality training experiences and effective, reliable support to the community of women entrepreneurs in Vietnam.

MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT
The IDEAS project is part of the overall “ASEAN Strategic Action Plan for SME Development 2016-2025 (SAP SMED 2025)”, with the goal of:
- Enhancing digital business capacity
- Supporting 4002 women entrepreneurs and startups from the ASEAN region.
- Building a quality training toolkit on E-Business and Digital Skills for ASEAN women MSMEs.
Supporting ASEAN economic recovery:
- Contributing to the economic recovery process after the COVID-19 pandemic and economic crisis
- Connecting and creating opportunities for 450 entrepreneurs to participate in the project’s online business network.
Connecting ASEAN and Korea:
- Building strong relationships between countries in the ASEAN region.
